40 Days of Prayer kick off

Our honored guest, Rick Curry, kicked off our 40 days of Prayer campaign today.  Rick and his wife Jennifer travel to minister awakening and transformation across the country.  His genuine heart for Jesus and his dedication to a lifestyle of prayer is life changing for those who encounter his ministry.Scripture: 1 Samuel 1

Discussion Topics:

1. On Sunday, Rick Curry told the story of Hannah from the 1 Samuel 1 passage. Hannah, who was barren, grieved to the point where she could make no sound as she prayed.  The priest on duty in the temple believed she was drunk. In this place of desperation she met God in a profound and life changing way. Discuss this passage and talk about meeting God in the most unlikely or desperate places in your life.
2. Rick Curry retold the story of Daniel Boone’s daughter’s kidnapping. It took Daniel two days to track her down. His daughter tore pieces of her dress to drop along the way leaving clues for her dad. What does it mean for God to “track” you?
3. Take time to discuss the 40 Day Prayer Campaign. What are your thoughts and expectations for the next 40 days? What can you do as a group to help support each other?
4. Finally, brainstorm additional steps your NavGroup can take during our prayer campaign like, fasting, having group prayer, and/or accountability markers.
