Jesus didn’t say, “This is what you should pray.” He said, “This is how you should pray.” The Lord’s Prayer is not a magic spell or incantation. Instead, the Lord’s Prayer is a pattern for prayer. The Lord’s Prayer is a ten-step pathway that will lead you to a deeper, closer relationship with God.
When you truly know and understand your heavenly Father, it will radically change your prayer life. It will enable you to pray with more confidence than ever before. Turn to page 44 in your prayer journal for this week’s questions. Then continue on to pages 46 and 47 for Putting it Into Practice.
Prayer is God’s idea. If He didn’t want to hear from you, He wouldn’t invite you to pray. God wants to hear from you because He loves you. He cares about every detail of your life. There is nothing too big or too small for His attention.
