Personal Ministry
An individual will never be fully prepared before they begin doing any ministry. The good news is that all of Christ’s disciples had on-the-job training for their ministry. The lesson we need to learn from the disciples is that God is with you and training you as you move out to minister to others. This week’s sermon comes from Matthew 14 and the story of Peter walking on water.
Discussion topics
- Take a minute to review the first two P’s that we have discussed: Private Disciplines and Practical Teaching. What does it mean to practically apply the Word of God to our lives? What are the three private disciplines that Matthew 6 gives us? How do each of these disciplines grow our faith?
- In your own words what does it mean to have a Personal Ministry? Why is it important to our spiritual growth to give to others?
- This week we learned about Personal Ministry from the story out of Matthew 14 where Jesus fed the multitude. Was there any part of the story that you did not understand? What is something new you learned from this week’s teaching?
- What is a place in your life, something that you have experienced or lived through, that you think God could use to bless, minister or help someone else?
