Private Disciplines
People limit their spiritual walk by not fully engaging their spiritual disciplines. What are the three spiritual disciplines? Why are they so important to your faith journey? In Matthew 6:1-18 we read that praying, tithing, and fasting are catalysts for our spiritual growth. While it is useful to hear from pastors, friends, or through a media platform, the moment you receive something straight to your heart from God, your intimacy with Christ and revelation will never be the same.

Discussion topics
1. When it comes to discipline, where do you struggle the most?
2. Is there anything that you do now, and you currently enjoy, that started as a discipline? What is that thing? What made this discipline become something you enjoyed?
3. Can you think of a discipline you’ve developed that has strengthened your relationships with those you care about the most? Ex:calling your mom on a regular basis, coming home at a predetermined time, picking up after yourself, drinking less.
What discipline do you need to develop to strengthen your relationship with God?
4. Were you raised in a home where generosity was practiced and talked about? Were you raised to give? Was the giving in your home more need/crisis based or did your family support your church and/or other organizations on a regular and systematic basis?
