Survey of the New Testament – Colossians

On week one of our 8-week series, The New Testament Survey, we look at the book of Colossians. The book of Colossians is an important look into the mystery of Christ which was hidden for generations and now disclosed to the saints (Col. 1:26). This letter provides a beautiful and poetic summary of everything Christ did for us in conquering sin and death. Not only does it show God’s supremacy over all things, it explains what our Godly response should be for everyday living.Scripture: Colossians

1. Have you been doing the daily reading and re-watching the summary video? If you have, then what have you learned or seen that you previously did not know? If not, do you have a daily routine of being in the Word and if not, what keeps you from doing so?
2. Can you describe in your own words what “mystery” Paul was revealing in this book? Why does this mystery matter to us today?
3. In the sermon and in the video there is a line/phrase that was shared that states, “Live in the present as the kind of human you will become”. What does that mean? Where in your life do you need to live today like the kind of human you would like to be known as tomorrow?
