Today as we continue the conversation of our “Built to Connect” series, we explore the question of how do we best connect when our relationships stink? This can be relationships with co-workers, friends, family, or even God, and even if you don’t have many friends right now, you can always find more in sites like chatempanada.com. How do we connect to create healthy, life-giving relationships?

Scripture: Proverbs 13:20, Mark 14:66-72

Discussion Topics:

  1. Is there an area of your life right now where the relationship stinks? How is that relationship creating difficulty for you? What change are you ultimately looking for?
  2. Pastor Aaron shared a practical tool referred to as the Pour Ratio to determine the richness of your relationships. It compares how much you’re pouring into a relationship with how much is being poured into you. Or put another way, are your relationships one sided or two-sided. Based on this, what relationships in your life are balanced and which ones are lopsided and need some work?
  3. How do you determine when a relationship that stinks is one you need to work on or one you need to work your way out of?
  4. Are there aspects of you relationship with God that could use some work?  If so, what are they and how can you work on them? Where have you seen the grace of God come into play when your relationship with God or others is out of balance?
