Love Those Who Hate You
When Adam and Eve were in the garden do you know their action of eating the fruit has had a continual effect on mankind known as “the curse”? You see the curse everyday when pain is inflicted on someone, a disease overtakes a life, or abuse occurs to the innocent. What if I tell you that you can be a part of rolling back the curse in the same way that Jesus did? Join us as we learn how to partner with Jesus to continue his work on the earth and how we practically walk this out by loving our neighbor.
Colossians 1:24-29
Discussion topics
1. Read Colossians 1:24-29. Paul – using the word “dee-oc-in-us” Diakonos means:
a waiter – a person who brings the meal and takes it away. Someone who can do an unskilled service or common service.
Paul saw himself as a very common person. Why is it important to have this personal perspective when it comes to Colossians 1?
2. Have you ever viewed your ministry, your service to others, your partnership with God as a way to “roll back the curse”? Take time to discuss this and if someone isn’t sure what this means take time to explain it as you understand it.
3. Read Luke 6:27-36 and discuss. Why is this so hard for us to do?
4. After hearing and discussing this topic, what is the one thing that you can start today in order to apply this teaching to your life?
