- In your own words, how would you describe the growth and transformation of John from the time he began to follow Jesus until the resurrection of Jesus?
- John had to lay down his pride and redefine power and authority in his life. Where in your faith journey are you still dealing with pride? How do you need to redefine who has power and authority in your life?
- John came to embrace the identity of “the disciple whom Jesus loved”. Where in your life is there a place where you simply need to be reminded that you are someone who Jesus loves? Then read together Romans 8:38-39.
- In John 17 Jesus demonstrates his love through prayer for his disciples and believers. Take time at the end of your time together to demonstrate love in this way. Consider taking praying request, offering encouragements, or simply reciting parts of the prayers Jesus prayed in John 17:20-27.
