One Filter
Did you know that the engine of a lawn mower or a car can sometimes lose power, have increased fuel consumption and have trouble starting all because of a bad filter? Ask yourself these questions: Have you felt powerless? Does life feel like it takes more than it gives? Do you sometimes even lose motivation to keep going? If you said yes to some or all of those questions, then it’s time to talk about the filters of your lives.
2 Kings 5:1-5
Discussion topics
- Read 2 Kings 5:1-5 as a group. What part of the story stood out most to you? If you were Naaman, how would you have emotionally felt following these instructions?
- In order for Naaman to be cleaned he had to first strip off his armor. Another way to say it would be…in order for Naaman to be saved, he had to pull off the thing that protects him. What armor are you refusing to strip off?
- Is there a filter in your life that you know is dirty? You know it is not a Godly filter, but you haven’t addressed changing it? You know it’s an issue. You feel powerless. Life feels like it takes more than it gives, and sometimes you lose motivation to keep going. What safer place than your trusted small group to reveal this filter and let those around you help “change” it out?
