Holy Spirit is One of Three Baptisms
We know what salvation is and we know why we get water baptized, but what is the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Is the baptism a necessary step in our salvation and sanctification process? This week we look at the three baptisms and how the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not only necessary, but needed for us to walk in the power of God that is available today.
Acts 2:38
Discussion topics
1. We just finished our series Holy Spirit 101, what was your biggest take-a-way from this series?
2. I want to encourage your group to be honest and open for this next question. Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit? Do you feel empowered to witness for Christ? Do you actively or occasionally move in the gifts and grace of the Holy Spirit?
3. Read Acts 2:38. Peter replied, “(1) Repent and be (2) baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the (3) Holy Spirit. Can you see the pattern found in the New Testament of salvation, water, and then Holy Spirit baptism?
4. Please take time as a group and pray for the people on your list that you would like to see come to Christ. How will you find a way to invite them to Church or the outreach this coming week?
