John 4:3-15
Discussion topics
1. In John 4:3-15 we read of Jesus, who was exhausted, sitting by a well when a Samaritan woman, who was also feeling empty, came walking up. Two people needing something and both receiving what they need. Jesus received it by pouring out and the Samaritan woman received it by being poured into. What did you hear, receive, or learn about this lesson? Can you give a personal example of a time where you poured out and were filled and a time when you were poured into and were filled?
2. Discuss John 4:31-34… How does this work? What does this mean? What does this tell us today on how we should live?
31. Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32. But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
33. Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”
34. “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
3. Where do you intentionally pour out to others the love of God? If you do not have a place, where can you start tomorrow pouring out into others?
4. I want to encourage your group to find out if anyone is feeling empty. If so, please take time to put on some music, begin praying together and allow the Holy Spirit to flow out of those who are feeling full to those who are feeling empty.
