Woman caught in Adultery
The woman caught in adultery may be one of the hardest stories to read in the New Testament. Compassion overrules the Sin. This week we learn about a woman Jesus is found connecting with rather than condemning.

- When you read this week’s passage what stands out to you most? Is it the people? Is it the setting? Is it the heart or words of Jesus?
- The part of the story that stood out to Pastor David was how Jesus stooped down into the dirt and wrote. This was more than just a legal matter. It was a literal parallel of how Jesus gets into the dirt of our lives. Where is a place in your life where you had dirt, metaphorically speaking, that Jesus rescued you from by getting in the dirt with you?
- When sin occurs in your life, or a life that you are a part of, what is your normal response based on the following? A)Woman– full of shame, the feeling of exposure, guilt ridden B)Religious– pointing out wrong doing, no grace, willing to punish at highest levels C) Jesus– not treating sin lightly, helps one turn from sin through forgiveness, and willing to be found in the pain with them.
