Pray for One Another
Has anyone ever prayed for you? Have you ever prayed for someone else? Or are you maybe still exploring what prayer is? As we continue in our series “One Another”, Navigation Church’s Life Pastor, Aaron Semanek, leads us in a conversation exploring the Bible’s call for the followers of Jesus to pray for one another. Guided by the words and instructions recorded in the book of James we discover the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits that come when followers of Jesus pray for one another.
James 15:13-16
Discussion topics
- Read James 5:13-16 together and discuss what stood out to you from Sunday’s message or even as you read it together again as a group. Does this passage challenge or affirm your view on prayer?
- Praying for one another has physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits. What benefits have you experienced from praying for one another? (Either as the one praying or the one being prayed for)
- On Sunday we talked about how prayer for one another helps heal places of suffering, sickness, and sin. Where in your life are you in need of prayer for places like this where prayer from your community can support you and Jesus can heal you?
- Time to practice what scripture calls us to. Take time as a group now to pray for one another. You can pray for some of the responses from discussion point 3 or simply offer encouragement through prayer. The goal is for everyone to receive prayer from another person.
