Relationship Q & A
As we wrap up our REALationship series, Pastor David and his wife, Kami are here to answer your questions. We hope you enjoy their perspectives and answers they share during this unique Q & A.
Discussion topics
- This past Sunday Pastor David, along with his wife Kami, had a time of questions and answers that were sent in over the past few weeks. One of the first questions discussed was, “If you have made God the foundation of your relationship is it possible for the relationship to fail”? Do you think it is possible for a relationship to fail, a business dealing to go south, a partnership to crumble even if God is at the center and, if so, why? One thing that the pastors mentioned as a way to keep a relationship alive is Colossians 3:12-14. Read and discuss this scripture as to what it is saying and how can it apply to this scenario.
- One key step in any relationship, in order to keep it healthy and growing, is to have preventative maintenance versus reactionary overhauls. Some of the examples used were learning your personalities, studying the 5 Love Languages book, and going to counseling when nothing is wrong. What does preventative maintenance look like in your relationships? Do you think there are relationships that you have lost because you did not focus on it enough before it was too late?
- John 10:10 says that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. In Matthew 5:25 Jesus is quoted as saying that a house divided can not stand. What are some ways that the enemy tries to divide you and your relationships so that he can kill, steal and destroy them?
- Now that this series has come to a close, what stood out to you the most? Where are some places that you need to work on? Is there a place in your life where you feel the holy spirit is calling you towards in order to work on you, grow you or mentor you into something new?
