Relationship Communication
Welcome to week two of a three-week series known as (Real)ationships. Pastor David is joined by his wife, Kami, to explore, discuss and reveal what a real relationship looks like biblically and practically. Join them as they explore aspects of communication and how it plays a vital, if not keystone, part in every relationship. The one thing that you will get from this teaching is that a breakdown in relationship is caused by a breakdown in communication.
2 Samuel 3:12-16, 2 Samuel 6:20-23, Ephesians 4:26
Discussion topics
- The big thought from Sunday’s sermon was “a breakdown in relationship is caused by a breakdown in communication”. How would you define this thought in your own words? Do you think the 14 years separation, lack of communication, played a part in the demise of King David and Michal?
- he story of King David and Michal found in 2 Samuel 3:12-16 (in which David demands Michal is brought back to him) and 2 Samuel 6:20-23 (in which Michal challenges David after bringing the ark back home) is what bring us to a close on this part of David and Michal’s story. What part of this story stands out to you? Is there anything that you do not understand or would like to read again?
- One set of communication tools that Pastor David and Kami shared was being able to ask the questions, “How can I serve you, solve this for you, or save you?” Do you think this is something you could use? Is there something that you say on a regular basis that helps you and your communication skills?
- When it comes to relationships and communication, why do you think it is better to have a conversation than live with speculation?
