- Joseph went from being the privileged son to a prisoner falsely accused. How do you think Joseph maintained his faith and sense of purpose despite his difficult circumstances? Have you ever experienced a time when you felt forgotten or overlooked like Joseph?
- Genesis 39:21 states, “the LORD was with him.” How does knowing that God was with Joseph even in prison impact the way you view your own difficult circumstances? How can we be more aware of God’s presence in our struggles?
- Joseph could have focused on his own pain but chose to help the cupbearer and baker. Why is it important to be mindful of others’ needs even when we’re going through challenges? How can being outward focused bring healing and growth?
- ACTION STEP – Consider one area of your life where you feel forgotten or discouraged. How can you turn this situation over to God and trust Him to use it for good, as He did for Joseph?
