Ezekiel
God never has been nor is He now interested in punishment for punishment’s sake. Rather, He intended the punishment or judgment in Ezekiel’s day as a means to an end—to bring His people to repentance and humility before the one true God. Join us as we explore the steps Ezekiel laid out to be closer to God.
Ezekiel 47:1-12
Discussion topics
1. What does it mean that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:15-20) and how does that parallel, or mean to us today, with regards to Ezekiel 47 1-2?
2. Read Ezekiel 47:3-5 and discuss the different levels described in the scripture and what they mean. What level are you currently living in?
3. Ezekiel 47:6-8 says that the power of this river is sufficient and has the power to bring things back to life. Are there places in your life that you believe are dead but God wants to bring life back to them? Is it a relationship? Is it the salvation of a loved one or friend? What have you given up on in your life without consulting God first?
4. Ezekiel 47:9-12 tells of God-saving powers. Please take time as a group and pray for the Fall Festival. Pray for God’s saving grace to fall on all those involved and that the “river” of God would be poured out on the city that day.
