Discussion topics
Hebrews 12:1
“Let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.”
- What are the habits, hurts, hang-ups, and/or hobbies that you need to drop in order to run your race to your fullest potential?
- God uses troubles to teach us to trust in Him. What problem in your life has brought about the greatest growth in your character?
- The fourth point of Pastor David’s sermon on Sunday was, “I must know that God is cheering me on at every stage of the race”. Do you believe that God cheers you on? When you succeed, how do you think God thinks about you? When you fail, how do you think that God thinks about you?
- It’s never too late to start growing. What progress would you like to see in your spiritual (discipleship) life one year from now? What step can you take tomorrow to move that direction?
