Easter 2020 is unlike any other Easter in our life time. We thought it was going to be a normal holiday, filled with family and social plans, yet we had no idea what was on our horizon. One new “thing” surfaced and messed up all those plans. 2,000 years ago there were people that probably felt just like you. Normal life was interrupted. Plans changed. Life was unusual, sad, and unsure. Then… Jesus. Jesus arose from the dead and lives were changed forever. Celebrate with us this Easter as we reflect on what will never change.
Discussion Topics:

  1. With all that is happening with COVID-19, and having to miss a corporate gathering for Easter, how did you and your family handle this change? Were you able to still connect with God? Did you feel like something was missing from your yearly, spiritual holiday? What is something positive you can take away from this life event?
  2. Pastor said over and over again that “Jesus Knows” when it comes to your depression, your abuse, your rejection, and many other examples. First of all, do you believe that God knows your struggle? If you can be very honest here, is there a place where you have not been able to trust God because you don’t believe he knows what you are going through?
  3. As a society we are all searching for something. Searching for peace, purpose, affection, acceptance, love, hope, and happiness to name just a few. Unfortunately, all too many times, we are searching for the right things in the wrong places. (See Adam and Eve in the garden for a biblical example) Is there a place in your life where you are searching for something but you continue to go to a wrong/unhealthy place?
  4. OPTIONAL QUESTION/BIBLE STUDY- Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 and discuss how this scripture would pertain or parallel to why we celebrate Easter today.
