This morning Pastor David introduces our second fruit of the spirit – JOY. Joy is the natural reaction to the work of God, whether promised or fulfilled. Where do you need more real joy in your life? Find out today how you can live with true joy even in difficult circumstances.

Scripture: Galatians 5:22-26

Discussion Topics:

  1. What is the difference between the Fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5) and the Gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12)? Do you have any specific questions about any of the Gifts of the Spirit and how they work in a Christian’s life today?
  2. If someone asked you what the difference is between being happy and having joy, how would you answer the question?
  3. Read the steps found in Romans 5:3-5 that take us through a trial to having hope, and discuss the natural outcome. Also, why do you think it is necessary to “find joy” in this situation?
  4. Where is there a place in your life where you think you have joy but in reality you are finding temporary substitutes (aka flesh) that could lead to death and destruction rather than life and abundance?
