Holy Spirit is Available Today

Have you ever been told that Holy Spirit is not available to the believer today?  If this is true we need to look at when Holy Spirit came to the church (Acts 2). And discover what was said about his availability in the days to come.  This week we discover Holy Spirit is available today to you, to your children and for all who are far off.

John 16:12-13, Acts 2:38-39

Discussion topics

1. Of the three weeks listed below, is there anything that doesn’t make sense? Is there a specific week or statement that has opened your eyes to who Holy Spirit is? What has your biggest take away been so far?

Week one recap – If you do not see Holy Spirit as a person then you will never have a personal relationship with him.
Week two recap – Holy Spirit is working towards a divine purpose and that is to bring the presence of God to human beings.
Week three recap – When Holy Spirit takes up His abode within us, He does so with a plan and a purpose.

2. Read John 16:12-13 and ask this question, “Has there been a time in your life where you can remember Holy Spirit speaking to you”?

3. Read Acts 2:38-39 – Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Do you have any doubt that Holy Spirit is still available for you today?

4. The challenge for this week was to take 5 minutes a day and just talk to Holy Spirit.  Take time as a group to discuss how you have been doing, how it feels to do this, and has anyone experienced anything in your prayer life/relationship with Him since doing this challenge?
