Have you ever been told, “The Bible says not to judge”? Oddly enough, this statement is both correct and incorrect. This week we look at should we judge, when can we judge, and how should we judge as followers of Jesus. Join us and discover the healthy and right way to judge yourself and others.

Matthew 7:1-2

Discussion topics

1. Ice breaker questions… Who’s your favorite reality TV judge? What would it be like for you to be judged by them?

2. Why are superficial judgments harmful to relationships?

3. Read Matthew 7:1-5 and discuss. What did you hear, see, or what was revealed to you about this scripture?

4. What are the situations in your life where you feel most judged? When are you most judgmental of others?

5. Pastor covered three areas where we should judge or how we should judge:

  1. Never judge by appearances (John 7:24)
  2. Never judge hypocritically (Romans 2:1-5)
  3. Never judge outside the family (1 Corinthians 5:12)

Is there one of these that speaks to you? What did you learn or see when these areas were covered?
