Gratitude

In week three of Right Side Living, Pastor David shares the key to moving from the left side (natural position) of our character, to the right side (intended design) of our character. That key is one simple thing – finding gratitude. In this final week, you will not only learn the practical steps to gratitude, but the eternal ramifications this specific character trait has on your life.

Acts 16:22-26

Discussion topics

  1. In the Lord’s Prayer we read, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. In your own words, how do we bring heaven down to earth?
  2. The Lord’s Prayer continues by saying, “Give us this day our daily bread”. What does it mean to give us our daily bread. Why do you think the daily bread comes immediately after the invitation of heaven on earth?
  3. On Sunday, Pastor David said the phrase, “Gratitude isn’t something you have because of your circumstance; it is something you have in the middle of your circumstance”. What does this mean to you? Is this phrase something that is easier to say than do? How can you have gratitude in the middle of your situation?
  4. Read Acts 16:22-26 and discuss what we can learn about gratitude from the story.
