Still Moving – Men

In week one of Still Moving we will be discussing men, praying for men and looking to help men connect not just to God but to one another.  Men, you do not have to be alone in this thing called life.  Scriptures are very clear that it is not good for men to be alone (Gen. 2:18).  This week we tear down the myth of what it means to “be a man”.

Genesis 2; I Kings 19

Discussion topics

  1. Who are the men in your life that you are praying for over the next week? Are you praying for your will to be done in their life or for God’s will to be done? Many times we pray about pet peeves or places that we want to see changed. Take a minute in prayer and ask God how He would like you to be praying over these next few days.
  2. What is your definition of a man? Is it a biblical, God-glorifying definition or is it based on the current cultures definition?
  3. 1 Kings 19 tells a story of Elijah and how after a major victory he went into major depression.  Read and discuss this aspect of Elijah’s journey.  Where can you relate?  What stands out to you about this story and what do you have questions, or question, about this event?  What can you learn from Elijah?
