Following your God given dreams

This week we find Joseph summoned by Pharaoh to interpret his troubling dreams.  Joseph speaks the truth behind the dreams and is raised once again to serve in the palace.  While not an ideal location, the prison provided the preparation Joseph needed for the next step of his personal dream. What are you doing in preparation for the dream God has given you?Scripture: Genesis 41:1-41

Discussion Topics:

  1. What aspect of the story found in Genesis 41 do you relate to the most? Is there any part of the story that you did not understand or need to talk through?
  2. When Joseph stood before Pharaoh he was compelled to speak the truth God had given him instead of telling Pharaoh a story to make him happy. He risked losing Pharaoh’s favor and being thrown back into prison in order to please God. How does that thought and the phrase, “If you make your “dream” god then God won’t make your dream a reality” work together?
  3. For your dream, where are you preparing yourself so that you are ready when predestination arrives?
