Today’s Mother’s Day special Pastor David has a sit down, one-on-one conversation with his mother, Dr. Patti Amsden. They discuss the Hard Knock lessons learned regarding motherhood that anyone and everyone can learn from. This week’s sermon will allow you to see the importance of investing in children, the struggles that every parent will and does face, and how everyone can find their identity in Christ. Scripture: Deuteronomy 6; I Samuel 25

Discussion Topics:

  1. The School of Hard Knocks is the hard way to learn a lesson. Wisdom can be passed down from the older generation and applied in our lives. Where is a place in your life you applied some elderly wisdom and avoided the hard way?
  2. Instruction should lead to self-governing. Where have your choice-based actions lead to unhealthy repercussions? Where should you self-govern more?
  3. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to aid us in our spiritual growth and maturity. Where do you listen to that helper? Where do you not?
  4. If you are on the treadmill of Christianity and don’t know where you can minister using your God given abilities, where can you begin ministering today with your abilities?
