Discussion Topics:

  1. What part of the sermon or story of Abigail, David, and Nabal stood out to you the most?
  2. On Sunday Pastor David discussed the Golden Rule found in Matthew 7:12, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. He also discussed that Abigail was the only one that actually lived out the Golden Rule when she returned good for evil. Who are you most like in your life? Abigail? Nabal (returned evil for good)?  David (returned evil for evil)?
  3. In 1 Samuel 25:30-31 we read, “When the LORD has fulfilled for my lord every good thing he promised concerning him and has appointed him ruler over Israel, my lord will not have on his conscience the staggering burden of needless bloodshed or of having avenged himself.” Another way Abigail could have said this is, “When you look back at this moment, and it is a part of your life story, you won’t have regret.”  When you look back at your life what is the story you are able to tell?
  4. What attribute or attributes did Abigail demonstrate that you would like to see in your life?
