Scripture: Ephesians 6:16Discussion Topics:

  1. A football player will wear a helmet to protect his brain from injury so that his body will function correctly. During the conversations about the helmet of Salvation it was said that we need to protect our mind so that our soul functions correctly. How do these two things parallel and how much is our soul effected by how our mind thinks?
  2. There are three types of salvation: Doctrine of Justification (saved from penalty of sin), Doctrine of Sanctification (saved from power of sin) and Doctrine of Glorification (saved from presence of sin). Paul is writing this letter to Christians who would have been Justified but yet he tells them to put on the Helmet of Salvation. How does Sanctification and Glorification play into all of this?
  3. What does it mean to be saved and are you one bad decision from “losing” your salvation?
  4. Could you identify a place in your life where you are legally free but not functionally free?
