Cain, who was a farmer, was the first born human to Adam and Eve. Abel, who was a shepherd, was his brother. The reason this story is so famous was this has gone down in history as the first murder. Join us as we look into the lives of Cain and Abel.

  1. After this Sunday’s sermon, and a re-reading of Genesis 4, what part of this story stands out to you?
  2. Pastor made the statement on Sunday, “You don’t have the right to blame where you come from but you do have the obligation to know that if you are not careful it won’t stop with you”. What part of your family heritage, traditions, curses, needs to stop with you?
  3. Listen. The powerful words that Jesus said to Cain after Cain murdered his brother. Listen. Listen to the blood that cries out. The blood of the innocent, the cries of the wounded have a voice, the pain of the oppressed are saying something. Where in your life are you listening to those who need help and how are you helping?
  4. On Sunday, Pastor David showed how this story was a type and shadow, a foretelling if you would, of the story of Jesus. Can you re-tell this narrative in your own words?
