The New Wine
A new year. Today we look at Jesus’ first miracle and what our savior has to say about new wine versus old wine and the skins that hold them. Let’s pursue God in a powerful and non-compromising way.

1. Do you have a goal, a new year’s resolution, or a word that you are going to live by, in 2023? What is it and do you have any spiritual goals for 2023?
2. In Luke 5:37-39 (and Mark 2:22) we see Jesus talking about pouring new wine into old wineskins. In your own words describe what Jesus was talking about and what he was trying to communicate.
3. One of the things that stands out about this passage in Luke 5:37-39 (and Mark 2:22) is that Jesus is talking about new and old wine. One thing that Jesus doesn’t say is that the old is bad and the new is good. Where are you in your life? Are you ok with the old wine or do you long for the new wine? What does it take to get the new wine?
