Resentment

In week two of Right Side Living, we see how resentment keeps you from building the character you need to live in your God given, design. Resentment is when a moment causes you hurt and you keep that hurt in the forefront of your relationships. The road of resentment will never lead you to a healthy life. It hinders positive character development.

Ephesians 4:29-32

Discussion topics

  1. How would you tell someone about this sermon series?  How would you explain the left side versus right side character list?  How would you explain the natural position versus the intended design?
  2. How do you think resentment plays a role in moving us to our unhealthy, natural position of the left side?
  3. Read Ephesians 4:29-32 and discuss how this verse would fit into the discussion of resentment, left side and right side thinking and natural position versus intended design.
  4. Is there a place in your life where you know you hold resentment? Would you be willing to share it with the group and be open to walking through a process of forgiveness and repentance so you no longer hoard that left leaning attribute?

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:29-32
