Survey of the New Testament

Here in week two of our New Testament Survey series we look at the book of Titus. Like any other church in the world today, the churches on the island of Crete were susceptible to false teachers and Paul directed Titus to oversee doctrinal purity and instruct Crete Christians on how to conduct their everyday lives. This is one of the shortest books in the New Testament but there is powerful life lessons in nearly every sentence.

  1. This question was asked last week but until we create a new habit of Bible study it is worth asking again. Have you been doing the daily reading and re-watching the summary video? If you have, then what have you learned or seen that you previously did not know? If not, do you have a daily routine of being in the Word and if not, what keeps you from doing so?
  2. In your own words can you describe what the book of Titus is all about?
  3. The video made the statement, “The church should be an agent of transformation not through culture wars or assimilation but through wise participation in culture”. What do you think of that statement? Do you agree or disagree? What does it mean to transform culture through wise participation?
