Mercy takes action where others take off. Mercy isn’t afraid to get its hands dirty. Mercy is helping people, no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. Serving others and following Christ go hand in hand, and this week we explore the Parable of the Good Samaritan to see how this can play out in our own lives.
Scripture: Proverbs 11:17

Discussion Topics:

  1. Share a time in your life when other believers brought you comfort or met a need.
  2. Today’s memory verse says, “Your own soul is nourished when you are kind” Proverbs 11:17 TLB.  Share a time when you found that to be true in your life.
  3. What can you do with what you’ve been through?  The bible says, “[God] comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others” 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT.  What comfort has God given you when you were going through troubles?  How can you share that comfort with others who are hurting?
  4. The good Samaritan teaches us that ministry opportunities are usually unexpected, so we must be willing to be interrupted.  Think of a time when God engineered and unexpected ministry opportunity just for you.  How did you know it was God-engineered?
