Evangelism
What is the difference between your ministry and your mission? Your ministry is in the church. Your mission is in the world. Your ministry is to believers. Your mission is to unbelievers. In sixth and final week of What on Earth Am I Here For? we finish with the topic of evangelism and reveal that you were made for a mission.
John 12:32, Colossians 4:5-6
Discussion topics
- In your own words, how would you define being an evangelist for Christ?
- John 12:32 “But, when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to myself”. How do you lift up Christ in your life? Does this scripture put pressure on you or take the pressure off you to “get someone saved”? Why or why not?
- Colossians 4:5-6 says, “Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone”. 1 Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who ask you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect”. What principles and ideas can we learn from these verses about sharing Christ with people in our lives or that we come in contact with?
- Take time as a group and pray for loved ones, friends, co-workers and acquaintances that they may come to know Jesus as their Savior. As you finish your time of prayer ask the Holy Spirit to put someone on your heart that you should invite to church. After that moment of silence share with the group what you hear and commit to looking for an opportunity for who to share the gospel with and/or invite to church.
